Friday food focus

We spent the entire day eating. I wish I were kidding or exaggerating, but I am not. We had a lovely, quiet breakfast at home consisting mainly of fresh fruit. A new friend came over to visit for a bit, then we shelled fresh peas and made lunch. Lunch was made entirely of vegetables. After lunch, we made it as far as the Patisserie and Boulangerie and then returned home. We consumed our pastries right away and then proceeded to devour an entire baguette (smothered in goat cheese, of course) during the course of the late afternoon. Then it was time to dress up and head out to our formal dinner cruise on the Seine. It was a four course gourmet meal served while traveling for three hours up and down the river. Emma had her first ever foie gras and caviar. The meal was excellent, the view was breathtaking and there was fabulous live music, too. It was glorious. Afterwards while we walked over to the Eiffel Tower, which was still very busy even though by now it was after 23:30, a gentleman gave Emma a beautiful red rose. Finally, we took a taxi home. Good thing we are so tired, or we might keep eating.
