Lazy Saturday

After sleeping in and having a lovely breakfast here in the apartment, we decided to just take a stroll. Two hours later we decided we were official lost. I truly had no idea where we were. I figured if we headed west, we would eventually run into the Seine, however after many more miles we still had not. Very fun.

I finally pulled out the Paris2Go app on my phone and it provided a full map including our exact GPS location. Technology is amazing! We happened to be near the Cathedral de Madeleine. Gorgeous cathedral, and especially neat because that is Emma's middle name. Next we wandered over to the Avenue des Champs Élysées. I took Emma to see the super elite stores just off the avenue: Ferragamo, Dior, Ricci, Chanel, Vuitton, Lauren, Versace, Dolce&Gabbana, etc... she was in heaven.

We wandered over to the Eiffel Tower, but the Saturday crowds were daunting. We settled for a picnic on the Champ de Mars. There were thousands of people, music, laughter and sunshine. Bliss. Next we grabbed the Rouge line bus back to the Opera house. From there we strolled towards home enjoying the sights and sounds of Paris on a Saturday night.

We managed a simple meal at home for dinner consisting of ham and cheese with bread and the spiciest Dijon mustard ever. Add our vegetable couscous and spinach salad and it was perfect. Perhaps not as decadent as my glacee de fraise or Emma's beignet that we had earlier.

Tomorrow is supposed to be cold and rainy, so we are not sure of our plans.
Bonne nuit!

  1. You guys were at Notre Dame and did you cross the bridge to Ille St. Louis and try the ice cream?
